Erik Guzman
Clinical Research Coordinator
Erik was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, and moved to Northeastern Arkansas when he was 8 years old. He studied psychology at the University of Arkansas and loves working with people, specifically in mental health. Erik has previously worked as a paraprofessional with children with adverse childhood experiences and in a neuropsychology clinic doing brain mapping.
As a clinical research coordinator, Erik works as a liaison between the principal investigator, sponsors, and patients. This allows him to combine two things he loves: research and face-to-face work with patients. Erik is very involved in community outreach, especially within the Hispanic community, with a focus on increasing diversity in clinical research to improve health outcomes in all patients.
Outside of work, you can find Erik experimenting with cooking foods and recipes from other cultures, hanging out with friends, and reading non-fiction.
